Paul Abel Family

Silvio, Joanna, Matthew, Christina, Andrew, Becky, Pastor Paul

The Abels and children serve as missionaries in Curitiba, Parana, Brazil. Since their arrival in southern Brazil in March 1985 they have established four churches in suburbs of this large city. The ARCA Bible Camp and Retreat Center was developed outside of the city where the Abel's now reside.

Pastor Paul

Paul Abel October 18 is the son of retired AFLC missionaries, Pastor John and Ruby Abel. Growing up in Brazil, he too felt called of God to return as a missionary. After two years at Crown College in St. Bonifacious, MN, Paul finished his degree in Elementary Education at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. In addition to seminary training at the AFLC Theological Seminary, he studied Christian Education and Missions at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL. Paul has taught high school in Brazil and has served churches in Thief River Falls, MN, and Maple Bay, MN. He presently oversees the work of the Curitiba District churches, pastors the Campo Largo church, and directs the ARCA Ministry. In addition to regular pastoral duties, Paul is active in building projects, and meeting the physical needs of people.

Becky

In 1979 Paul was married to Becky Dahlin October 6, daughter of retired Pastor Richard and Joanne Dahlin, of Northfield, MN. Becky has a degree in Elementary Education from Concordia College, Moorhead, MN, and enjoys working together with Paul in ministry. She is church organist, Sunday School teacher and ladies Bible study leader. Becky is a happy housewife and mother of four, (Joanna, Christina, Andrew, Matthew) often expanding her family to include several Brazilian teens. She plans and directs Bible Camp programs and leads an outreach to needy mothers and preschool children.

The Abels open their home to many, looking for opportunities to share their faith in Jesus through daily living. They host many short-term mission groups. The Abels also travel to Campo Mourao at various times to direct Bible camps and teach courses at the Bible School. They are eager to serve God wherever He leads.

Please pray for Paul & Becky Abel and family that they may be the aroma of Christ as they live and work in Brazil. The Abels key verse is: "Thanks be to God who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of Him." 2 Corinthians 2:14
